1 Killed, 5 Wounded In Mass Shooting At 116th And Western


    CHICAGO — Six people were shot, including one who has died, outside the Lumes Pancake House at the intersection of 116th and Western in the Morgan Park neighborhood around 2 p.m. Sunday.

    Chicago police said the fatal victim, a man, was the target of the shooting that injured five others.

    « He was dining outdoors under a tent when a white colored SUV drove up and fired shots striking him, » a Chicago police official said while confirming the shooting.

    Three were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition while two others were taken to OSF Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park in good to fair condition, multiple news outlets have reported.

    19th Ward Ald. Matt O’Shea was the first official to confirm the shooting. He was on the scene speaking to responding police officers before 3:30 p.m.
