Chris Christie: The Only Qualified GOP Presidential Candidate
Former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson has declared that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is the only qualified candidate to sit in the Oval Office. During an interview on MSNBC’s Deadline White House, Hutchinson expressed her partiality towards Christie among the seven candidates at Wednesday night’s debate. She highlighted how only two candidates in last month’s debate indicated that they would not support Donald Trump as the party’s nominee if he were convicted in any of the four criminal cases against him. Asa Hutchinson, one of the two candidates, did not meet the required criteria to participate in Wednesday’s debate, leaving Christie as the sole qualified candidate for the Republican nomination.
Supporting an Assault on the Constitution
Hutchinson emphasized the importance of responsible GOP leadership and cited Utah Sen. Mitt Romney as an example. She argued that supporting a candidate who has assaulted the Constitution and would be a convicted felon for doing so goes against Republican and democratic principles. Hutchinson believes that such support is not only anti-Republican but also anti-democratic, stating that it is the most un-American thing any candidate could do.
