The video above shows the two-time Grammy winner descending from the stars and joining her coaching colleagues seated around a campfire. When she is told it is tradition for the new coach to sing a song to the others, she swears she couldn’t possibly do it … and then continues the chorus to Olivia Newton-John’s « Hopeless Devoted to You » from the 1978 classic Grease.
Soon after, Grande is accompanied by her roommates in the red chair, while host / park ranger Carson Daly looks like a proud dad.
As previously reported, Grande succeeds Nick Jonas in the NBC reality juggernaut. For those of you who don’t watch The Voice’s ever-spinning game of music chairs, Jonas – who previously trained in Season 18 – returned last spring to replace an exciting Gwen Stefani. (Past coaches also included Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Shakira, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Jennifer Hudson.) « Surprise!
