South America’s qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar ™ continued on Tuesday with a full roster of five matches, each of which produced either a late winner or goals in stoppage time Both Brazil and Argentina were forced to come from behind to claim victory and take the top spot with six points each

Peru briefly fueled hopes of a famous home win over Brazil when they took the lead on time in the only match between two participants from Russia 2018 But Neymar struck twice more by finishing a hat-trick as Brazil won 4-2

Argentina had to count on a 79th-minute winner from substitute Joaquin Correa to reject Bolivia and end their 15-year drought in La Paz

The biggest drama came in Santiago as Radamel Falcao came in at close range in extra time, leaving Chile just ahead of a much-needed victory La Roja came back from behind to lead thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal

Paraguay inflicted late pain on an unlucky Venezuela as Gaston Gimenez scored the game’s only goal five minutes from full time

Ecuador won a landslide 4-2 victory over visiting Uruguay, whose only two goals came late by Luiz Suarez
