Port Adelaide have paced this year’s competition virtually all season long. At the time of writing, they are ahead of the Brisbane Lions on percentage atop the ladder, with both clubs holding 12-3 records. With a tough clash looming against Collingwood in the final round, Port can’t afford to drop this match if they want to seal that top spot.

The Bombers sadly have been one of the great disappointments of 2020. Appearing strong chances of qualifying for the top eight midway through the year, Essendon have fallen away badly and are now only a mathematical chance of making the postseason.

This is round 17 of the 2020 AFL draw, a schedule which has had to jump through all sorts of hoops due to COVID-19 but is now in sight of the finish line. The ball will be bounced to start the match at Adelaide Oval at 5:05pm AEST on Saturday 12 September.

Channel 7 and Foxtel have rights to broadcast AFL matches in Australia this season. As South Australians would likely know, you can watch it on free-to-air TV in your state. For anyone else in Australia, you need access to either Foxtel iQ, Foxtel Now or Kayo Sports. There is also the Watch AFL app if you are overseas. Another unique aspect to Kayo is its range of special features. SplitView lets you watch up to four sports at once on the same screen. Other features include Interactive Stats, No Spoilers, Key Moments and more.

Kayo broadcasts more than 50 sports all up, including a wide variety of timeless, evergreen content. It is compatible with Macs and PCs, plus iOS and Android devices, Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, Telstra TV, Sony Bravia TV and Samsung TV (2017 or later).

It seems certain to be yet another season of disappointment for Bombers fans, who are still waiting for a first finals win since way, way back in 2004. But the situation is looking very different indeed for Port Adelaide, who will be fine-tuning their plans for a genuine assault on this year’s flag. It is hard to envisage anything but a solid win for the Power here.

When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.

Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
