Love Island’s Anna Vakili has denied allegations she attacked a group of ‘teenagers’ after being filmed fighting in Hyde Park.
Videos shared on social media on 25 May show the 29-year-old reality star and her sister Mandi involved in a brawl in Kensington Gardens.
A woman claiming to be the cousin of one of the teenagers involved claims that the teenagers were calling Anna’s name, when the reality star’s friend allegedly snapped at them.
They alleged that Mandi struck one of the girls, while Anna dragged one of the girls by the hair.
The pharmacist, who appeared on the 2019 series of Love Island, wrote on Instagram: ‘Since coming out of Love Island it’s become my normal for people to shout abuse at me in the streets and I have learned to turn a blind eye and remove myself from the situation.
‘Yesterday, I was having a picnic in the park with my sister, boyfriend and cousin when we were subjected to continuous verbal abuse from a group who came near us who were doing drugs. Wanting to remove ourselves away from them we packed up to leave, they came over swung at my cousin and threw her by the hair leaving her bleeding.
‘Out of self defence we had to get them off of her and leave. There was a large group of them and not many of us. These are not “innocent children” they have a gun, and they tried to steal my sisters phone. I have never had a physical fight in my life!! The violent attack has been reported to the police.’
She continued: ‘All these DMs and messages from people that weren’t even there. Why would we randomly attack anyone???? Use your brains.
‘We were attacked verbally and physically first because they knew me. Everything we done was to protect ourselves and my cousin. Can’t even enjoy a picnic in peace. I’ve just had enough.’
Police confirmed to Metro.co.uk that they are ‘aware of an allegation of assault in Hyde Park, on Monday, 25 May, at approximately 20:00hrs.’
One part of the shared footage appears to show Anna dragging a girl by the hair.
The woman who shared the original video posted a picture of Mandi to Instagram last night and wrote: ‘OK so this plastic h** touched my sister and cousin today! They are 16 years old! They are under age! I swear to god start counting your days! You’re going to prison and guess what!!! All that botox of yours will go you ugly human being!’
Both Anna and sister Mandi, 28, had uploaded videos of their Bank Holiday picnic in Hyde Park to Instagram, with a series of stories being posted on their accounts up until around 6pm.
Mandi shared Anna’s statement on her own story, as well as posting a quote reading: ‘I don’t give anyone a reason to hate me. They create their own drama out of pure jealousy.’
She also shared a series of videos in which she argued: ‘The videos only showed one half of the story.’
Mandi claimed that she was bit in the chest by one of the girls, and showed off a scratch on her forehead; she alleged: ‘There would have never been a physical altercation if the girl hadn’t punched my cousin in the face.’
Later, Anna shared a picture of herself crying, and wrote: ‘I can’t get out of bed. I’m exhausted and sick of the abuse since coming off TV. And now accusations from a small clip that isn’t the story. Witnesses saw they attacked us for no reason.
‘Anyone else trying to enjoy themselves on a picnic and their little cousin gets attacked bleeding for NO REASON what would they do? Just because of fame you think you can tear me down.
‘These people are winning – I hope you are all happy that they will continue to treat people this way because they can get away with it as the “victims” I don’t care about my image. God knows the truth. The world is unfair but God knows.’
Anna – who had a romance with Jordan Hames on last summer’s Love Island – recently returned to work as a pharmacist on the frontline.
