Sheffield United are taking on Wolves tonight at Bramall Lane as the two clubs begin their Premier League campaign.
The Blades made a blistering return to the top flight last season, finishing in the top half with one of the best defensive records in the league under manager Chris Wilder. Wolves has been excellent too since coming up the previous season under Nuno Espirito Santo and will expect to push the top six once more.
39 mins: The Blades win another corner and Norwood delivers again. McBurnie wins the header this time and hits it straight at the Wolves goalkeeper.
36 mins: Basham slices a cross into the box and Patricio has to tap the ball over the bar and gives away a corner. Norwood sends it into the box and Saiss clears the danger.
33 mins: Egan clatters into Jimenez as the ball comes up to the Wolves striker. Egan is shown the game’s first yellow card.
30 mins: Better from the Blades. They maintain their pressure in the final third. It comes to Lundstram in the box but his cross is poor. Fleck heads the ball back into the middle, keeping the attack alive but Rui Patricio is fouled as Sharp and McBurnie try to get to the ball.
27 mins: Wolves have been brilliant so far. Sheffield Utd haven’t been able to string an attack together. Stevens tries to create something but sending a decent cross into the penalty area. Saiss deals with it but the whistle goes for an offside against McBurnie.
24 mins: Stevens is having a terrible time on Sheffield’s left. A cross field pass comes out to Traore. He knocks the ball past Stevens and runs past him before crossing the ball into the box. O’Connell heads it away.
Wolves work the ball back to Jimenez, who drifts over to the centre-right. He cuts the ball onto his left foot and has a go. He’s aiming for the top far corner but misses to the left of goal.
21 mins: Adama Traore tries to run past Enda Stevens on the right wing and almost succeeds but the Irish defender bungle him out of play. Wolves whip the resultant free kick into the box but it is defended well by the home side.
18 mins: Traore sends a pass back to Willy Boly but it’s too wide for the defender to reach. McBurnie races after it and almost gets there first but Coady sprints across his own box and slides in making a good challenge and winning the ball.
15 mins: Billy Sharp tries to jump onto a poor pass from Adama Traore but he only manages to kick the ball out of play. The game is settling down after that rapid start.
12 mins: Jimenez is causing the Sheffield Utd backline a lot of trouble. His hold up play has been great. He flicks the ball behind Basham and turns the defender who brings him down just inside the Blades half. Neto sends it into the box for Dendoncker but the ball is cleared.
