Curry-Lee has been open and honest with her followers about her fertility struggles, hoping that it helps others who can relate to not feel so alone. She shared a video on Instagram showing the infertility process and its emotions, captioning it with words of encouragement for those going through the same thing. Curry-Lee’s followers could relate to her fertility struggles and were grateful for her openness.
Curry-Lee announced in March that she was expecting her second child and is due in August. Her son Daxon, with husband Damion Lee, who plays in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns, was born in November 2021 through IVF. Their second child, a girl, was also conceived with the help of IVF. Curry-Lee has been open about her fertility struggles with her social media followers. In a video posted in June 2021, Curry-Lee gave a small look into her challenging journey to get pregnant with her son.
National Infertility Awareness Week is April 23-29, intended to bring awareness of infertility, which isn’t always discussed openly. According to RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, « NIAW, founded by RESOLVE in 1989, became a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services in 2010. » Curry-Lee’s transparency and openness about her fertility struggles have helped to bring awareness to this important issue.
