Activision and Treyarch released the first cinematic trailer for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War today. Players logged into Warzone to play a special âKnow Your Historyâ game mode. After completing a match by gathering intel and going through some other steps, the match ended and players had to run to the stadium and safety before a nuclear bomb went off.
As you ran, the previous teaser trailer about destablization of the West played. Upon reaching the stadium the trailer for Cold War played. It features some characters from earlier Black Ops games like Frank Woods, and a startlingly good rendition of president Ronald Reagan.
The game comes out on November 13th, as the leak earlier this week predicted. A multiplayer reveal is coming September 9th. Glimpses of gameplay can be seen in the trailer including what appears to be a desert area on the Warzone map.
Suffice to say, this is all pretty cool. The event went pretty smoothly despite having to wait forever to get into a match.
âDeveloped for next generation consoles by Treyarch and Raven Software, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Battle.net starting November 13th with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X to release in Holiday 2020, depending on when consoles are available to consumers.
âIn pure Black Ops style, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fuses elements of 1980s pop culture through a mind-bending conspiracy story, where deception and subterfuge are the norm in the gripping single-player Campaign. In this sequel to the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, players encounter historic figures and learn hard truths as they battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Turkey, Vietnam, Soviet-era Moscow, and more. As elite operatives, players attempt to stop a plot decades in the making as they follow the trail of a shadowy figure named Perseus, who is on a mission to destabilize the global balance of power and change the course of history. Beyond the Campaign, players will bring a wide selection of Cold War weapons and equipment into the next generation of Multiplayer combat and an all-new Zombies experience.
âThe title features cross-play support across current and next generation systems with cross progression across all modes. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will also offer a Battle Pass system and deliver a steady stream of free post-launch content, including multiplayer maps and modes, Zombies experiences along with a robust schedule of in-game community events.
âTune-in September 9th to Twitch.tv/CallofDuty for the highly-anticipated, worldwide reveal first-look at Black Ops Cold Warâs Multiplayer gameplay. Black Ops Cold War will also support and build on the hit, free-to-play experience Call of Duty: WarzoneTM. Black Ops Cold War includes shared progression features with Warzone, adding brand new inventory items that can be used in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Warzone players will still have access to all of their Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® content, including Operators and Weapon Blueprints previously earned.
âCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled for release globally November 13th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Battle.net. Next-Gen versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are scheduled for release Holiday 2020, depending on when consoles are available to consumers.
âStarting today, fans who pre-order or pre-purchase select digital versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will instantly unlock digital rewards, including Black Ops Operator Frank Woods for play in Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare now, and receive early access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Open Beta.
