World news – AU – AFL Live Scores: Saints out to secure historic finals spot against Giants

It's virtually an elimination final - more than one week early. The stakes are very high for St Kilda who know they'll secure a finals spot with victory over GWS.

St Kilda win, and they’re in (it would be their first finals series since 2011).

The Giants need to win to make it, but they also need the Bulldogs to lose and Melbourne, and to make up percentage.

He sharks a ball off hands and then as he is falling backwards snaps, high into the air and through the goals.

There were two Saints waiting to pounce so kicking and grabbing in one motion like he did was crucial.

It’s a goal to Jake Riccardi, from a set shot after Jeremy Cameron missed a relatively easy one.

It was a good mark from Riccardi, he’s got long arms and a nice leap.

He gets a super quick handball from Seb Ross and snaps from close to the 50m line.

It was a really tight first quarter, despite the Saints lead. GWS missed a lot of gettable chances after the Saints defensive system held up pretty well early.

Lonie is off injured for the Saints but doesn’t look too bad, while Reid looks to be done for the Giants, copping a Geary knee to the side in a marking contest.

It’s another goal to the Saints, this time through Brad Hill. Jack Lonie too the mark but couldn’t take the kick due to injury, so hill filled in and slotted it from close to the boundary.

Josh Battle kicks a goal for the Saints. He has done really well, spills a marks and then gathers, turns and kicks it from 50m out.
