Matthew McConaughey savagely answered a question about what he « thinks » of President Donald Trump, during an interview on Wednesday night with The Project

« How do I feel about him? » he said « I want a fuller context and a longer form to talk about it
‘I want fuller context’: Matthew McConaughey (pictured) closed a question about what he ‘thinks’ of President Donald Trump, when asked about it in an interview with The Project on Wednesday night
« If I told you something now, a line could be taken out of context and placed in a title, so I don’t want to risk that
« I need a longer form, where I know it’s verbatim – whatever I say gets broadcast ‘
Baffled by her response, Carrie, 39, replied, « Well, let’s lock this cat up for another day! »
Agreeing: Taken aback by her response, Carrie, 39, replied, « Well, let’s lock this cat up for another day! »
She quickly concluded the interview by saying, “Great to chat! It was fabulous Thank you very much for your time ‘
But in an interview with the BBC’s Andrew Marr in 2017, he was asked if ‘America’s cultural elite should give [Trump] a break’

‘At the same time, it is time for us to accept and shake hands with this fact and be constructive with it over the next four years’
His comments followed Trump’s election – and a year later, when asked to clarify his comments, he made a similar statement to the Daily Beast
« What I said, or thought I said, is people were in denial and we have to accept the fact that he is president, » he said.
He said he would only express his point of view in front of the camera in an unmodified form, adding: « I just don’t want to become click bait ‘
Stay silent: Matthew has rarely spoken of his political views in previous interviews – but the day after his election he said: ‘It’s time for us to kiss and shake hands with that fact and to be constructive with him over the next four years ”
