Support for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party has fallen 10% in the Queensland area and 6% statewide
Polls predicted support for the party to drop as Senator Hanson has been accused of being unusually calm in the run-up to the election
Antony Green, election analyst at ABC, said: « The story of this election right now is the collapse of the One Nation vote »
Annastacia Palaszczuk’s probable electoral victory tonight would give her the mandate to keep Queensland closed in Sydney and Melbourne to contain the coronavirus
Voters say Senator Hanson has drawn less attention to her One Nation party than she has in previous national and federal polls
Instead of heading to TV screens to share her dissenting opinion on controversial topics, Senator Hanson has opted for a ‘boots on the pitch’ approach
She has traveled much of the state to visit most of the 90 seats One Nation has contested
Ms Hanson also told Sky News that she does not believe in forecasts that Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk will be re-elected, as Labor is on the verge of retaining a majority in the state parliament
« I’m not very worried because… if you watch Rockhampton when you have the voting booth in a part of Rockhampton the votes in the outer city won’t be counted, » Ms Hanson told Sky News
‘There is another big problem, with postal votes 30% of those will be informal, this is going to have a huge impact on his election so I think it will be too close to call tonight

« People say Palaszczuk will come back, I don’t think it will, » she said
With 27% of the vote counted on Saturday, Labor was on track to hold at least 46 seats on the backs of 49% of Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk’s team
Labor voted 384 percent primary vote with National Liberal Party on 344 percent
The collapse of the One Nation vote – down by more than six percent – and the blocking of the Greens vote is a big factor working against the LNP
The Greens appear on course to win a seat – South Brisbane held by former Deputy Prime Minister Jackie Trad – bringing their number to two in the new parliament
Labor Prime Minister set to make history as the first female political leader to triumph in three elections, thanks to support from retirees worried about COVID-19
« But let’s be clear, this is only difficult because the Liberals chose to prefer her, » he told ABC
At the start of the elections, of the 93 parliamentary seats, Labor held 48 to 38 for the LNP, with the cross-bench comprising three members of Katter’s Australian party, a Greens, a One Nation, a North Queensland First and an independent Sandy Bolton
One nation seemed likely to hold its seat with KAP also holding three and Ms Bolton returned to Noosa
While the LNP held most of its traditional ground, the seats of Currumbin, Bundaberg, Chatsworth, Pumicestone and Caloundra risked falling into Labor hands
The swing was mixed statewide, with the southeast corner going 2% to Labor and 13% to TNL in regional areas
Opposition Leader Deb Freckington has widely supported closing the Labor border, in addition to criticizing the Prime Minister in September for preventing Sarah Caisip, a nurse from Canberra, 26, from attending the funeral of his father Bernard Prendergast in Brisbane
Gold Coast-based Federal Minister Karen Andrews said the result ‘clearly does not go in the direction we would like it to go’
Ms Andrews handed Labor over to older voters who ‘probably feel safe with borders closed’ endorsing Ms Palaszczuk’s strategy on coronavirus
« What we said is that this is a crisis at two levels, health and the economy, but it is clear that in some cases health was most important for people, ”she told ABC
Labor National President Wayne Swan says Ms Palaszczuk has earned ‘lasting respect’ for her approach to the pandemic
« What interests me is the strength so far on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, » he said
