Another Legendary Pokémon has returned to Pokemon Go for a limited time Zapdos, one of the three legendary birds in the original red and blue versions, appears again in five-star raids starting today, the 25th. September Zapdos has made many appearances in the game since its debut, but if you haven’t captured one yet or are just looking to add more to your collection, we’ve put together some tips to help you fight and catch. Zapdos below
Zapdos will return to Five Star Raids starting September 25 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET, and he will remain in the game until the same time on Friday, October 2. Raid Battles don’t follow a set schedule, but you’ll get an in-game notification when you’re about to start at a nearby Gym, so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding a Zapdos Raid.
Your best chance of catching Zapdos will come on Wednesday, September 30, when Niantic hosts their regular Raid Hour event. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time that evening, most of the gyms will be taken over by Zapdos raids. , which should make it easier to find and battle the Legendary Pokémon
As an electric / flying type, Zapdos is only really weak when compared to the Rock and Ice Pokémon. Rock types that are also partially terrestrial, like Rhyperior and Golem, will be especially useful in fighting it, as they will resist electric attacks from Zapdos and will deal super effective damage with their own Rock-type moves Alolan Golem is also a good choice as it is a Rock and Electric Pokémon, which makes it resistant to both types of Zapdos.
Mamoswine is your best bet when it comes to Ice Pokemon as it is partly rectified as well, but there are plenty of other viable pocket monsters to take with you.The Legendary Kyurem is also resistant to Zapdos’ electric attacks and can hit it with super efficient moves, while Glaceon and Weavile are just good ice attackers, though neither have any resistance to Zapdos
Zapdos’ electric attacks are very effective against water and other Flying Pokémon, while his Flying moves will tear up Grass, Bug, and Fighting types, so you’ll want to avoid using this type of Pokémon in battle.
