Takaaki Nakagami got off to a positive start to his Aragon MotoGP race day with the fastest in the morning warm-up at Motorland Aragon as he looks to maintain his stellar 2020 consistency race
The Japanese rider, in the Honda RC213V on which Marc Marquez dominated in Aragon last year, will start seventh on the grid for this afternoon’s race as he seeks to consolidate Honda’s best qualifying of the year. ‘year with Cal Crutchlow in third and Alex Marquez in 11th
He will also try to make a MotoGP top 10 in a row, and potentially become the 16th rider this year to stand on the MotoGP podium.
Front row starter Maverick Vinales finished second fastest to complete a lead time sweep in all pre-race sessions, while Alex Rins looked in good shape for Suzuki in third place
Fresh out of his first participation in Q2 of the MotoGP 2020 season, Marquez of Repsol Honda finished fourth to Joan Mir on the second of the Suzukis, while poleman Fabio Quartararo played it safe with the sixth fastest time
