BC health officials have introduced new orders in two health regions following spike in COVID-19 cases, including no social gathering
For the second day in a row, BC saw more than 500 cases of the virus, most of them in the Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health areas
Dr Bonnie Henry, BC Provincial health official and Health Minister Adrian Dix called an unusual press conference on Saturday to address the spike in cases They said there were 567 new cases Saturday, including 100 in hospital, including 31 in intensive care They also said there was another outbreak in a long-term care home in Mission
Henry said urgent, targeted action is needed in Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health regions Orders, which only affect the two health regions, begin Saturday and last until November 23
As of Saturday, there should be no social gatherings of any size and all groups should be limited to the household family only Party buses should stop running and all indoor group activities, fitness classes and sports must stop until updated government approved plans are in place

Henry said BC sees « dangerously high and rapid increases » in COVID-19 cases, and said the next two weeks are critical
In response to the order, BC Hockey said all hockey games in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Valley Health areas are to be canceled / postponed as of 10 a.m.m Saturday until further notice
