Chris Gaines could make a comeback! In 1999, Garth Brooks released an album under the fictional rock character Chris Gaines so he could explore other musical genres beyond country – but he seems to have kept his alter ego in the ’90s.
On radio, the 58-year-old singer was asked in a joint interview with his wife, Trisha Yearwood, about Gaines and if fans could expect to see him back « Oh, I don’t know not I think that would make 2020 complete, « joked Brooks
She added to congratulate her husband: « I am for I love this record I love this record »
While there is no Gaines music in the pipeline, Brooks has a new album, FUN, to be released on November 20 that will feature several duets, including one with Yearwood, and newly hired Blake Shelton
The couple also revealed that they recorded their cover of A Star Is Born’s “Shallow” for fans who liked their version, and were asked if they would ever consider covering Lizzo, as Yearwood is so fan of the artist
“I don’t think you want to sing ‘Truth Hurts’,” Yearwood told her husband. “If it’s something like I can just do two lines and get out of the way, then yes,” Brooks replied. / p>
