World News – CA – Pumpkin Carving Sessions for the Chichester Community This Halloween Weekend

With community activities hard to find due to social distancing restrictions, the CCDT was more determined than ever to provide something that allowed community members to come together and have fun carving old-fashioned pumpkins

Graylingwell Chapel in Graylingwell Park is home to the pumpkin carving, which takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on October 30 and 31, with each group in a separate carving station, in groups of up to six, with tables and tools wiped and cleaned between each participant

With hour-long slots there is plenty of time to sculpt a masterpiece, while still enjoying some themed craft activities designed for everyone to enjoy

Those keen to explore the area can also enjoy a pumpkin patch trail – looking for clues to make up the Halloween-themed words with prizes for anyone who takes the challenge

Costumes are not only welcome but also competitive, with a prize for the best dressed outfit announced on Saturday night, winning a macabre collection of goodies to devour

CCDT Director Clare de Bathe said: “The feedback we have received from so many community members and local residents is that they are frustrated with the limits placed on their children who still need means of expenditure their energy, get into the spirit of the season and just have fun!

« We are very happy to be able to offer this event to families and young people, and to stay here despite all the restrictions to support the community in all that is to come »
