MANILA, Philippines – State seismologists warned Friday evening that heavy rains brought by Typhoon Rolly could cause volcanic sediment flows or lahars and mud runoff from three volcanoes in Luzon to flow into rivers and nearby drainage areas

« Muddy currents can also be generated along the O’Donnell and Pasig-Potrero river systems draining the Pinatubo edifice to the north and southeast respectively and affect communities downstream of the provinces of Tarlac and Pampanga » , added the agency
The intense rains from « Rolly » can also generate muddy currents and muddy runoff around the Taal volcano, Phivolcs said, affecting the following municipalities of Batangas:
