The contestant for season six of the BBC One reality TV contest was fondly recalled by viewers

By Patrick McLennan

The Apprentice made the most of a year without the real series, canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting highlights from 15 series so far in the first of a six-part anthology parts of the best Bits of the best characters at the BBC One business fair

These were Thursday night’s best characters, and social media lit up with fans of the show when it featured a montage of the late Stuart Baggs, the season six contestant who tragically died in 2015 in the age of 27

« I’m not a one-lap pony, I’m not a 10-lap pony, I have a field of ponies to run towards this, » he memorably said

Others pointed out that he was their number one candidate: « Stuart Baggs will always be my most favorite #TheApprentice candidate of all time »

Stuart’s impact on fans of the series lasted 10 years after his appearance

The boss of apprentices, Lord Alan Sugar, created his own memorial to Stuart, who, aged 21, was the youngest to appear on the show

« He could talk with the hind legs of a donkey He was quite funny, he made me laugh for once in the conference room, » Lord Sugar said

« Stuart was one of our most memorable characters and sadly he passed away But he will never be forgotten. What a great character »

Then, of course, there was Ruth « The » Badger from the second season of The Apprentice in 2006

She came in second in the series, behind Michelle Dewberry, but many on social media felt she had been ‘stolen’

Ruth Badger – absolute legend She will always be the one who escaped, but I wonder what she’s doing now? #TheApprentice

Others have noted his impeccable attitude to tasks and his jail-free approach in the conference room

« I’m not saying The Badger was good, but in real life Lord Sugar now works for her #TheApprentice, » tweeted one fan

Some of the contestants themselves got involved in the nostalgia, like Melody Hossaini, who reached week 10 of 12 of season seven

The Apprentice – wow what an experience! Definitely a lot harder than people think Happy to be a part of! Very nostalgic watching the clips tonight # theapprentice #TheApprenticeBestBits @Lord_Sugar
