Luis Suarez had an astonishing impact on his debut for Atletico Madrid after leaving Barcelona, scoring twice and providing an assist as his side crushed Granada 6-1 at home in their opener of the La Liga season Sunday
Suarez, who only finished his change from Barca on Friday, started on the bench and arrived halfway through the second half with his side already three goals clear thanks to strikes from Diego Costa, Angel Correa and Joao Felix
The Uruguayan immediately made his mark releasing Marcos Llorente with an exquisite first touch and the Spaniard produced a first finish to score the fourth

Suarez then headed an imposing header into the net in the 86th minute after a Llorente cross before scoring again in injury time, after Jorge Molina scored a late consolation goal for Granada
Atletico took control of the game when Diego Costa returned home to a Correa cross in the ninth minute
They should have doubled their advantage shortly thereafter when Joao Felix got a penalty, but midfielder Saul Niguez saw his kick stopped and then stole the rebound off target
Joao Felix slips into the net close to give Atletico a 3-0 lead in the 65th minute
Granada had entered the game on a four-game winning streak in all competitions, but Atletico quickly put the game out of reach after the interval
Record signing Felix chose Correa and the superbly controlled Argentinian before finishing in the far corner in the 47th minute as the Portuguese showed his class to score the third goal shortly after
Felix’s brilliant performance was quickly eclipsed by Suarez, however, the Uruguayan looked insatiable within 20 minutes he was on the pitch after replacing Costa
After scoring the pass for Llorente, Suarez appeared to have won a penalty after receiving a foul from Fede Vico and was ready to take the kick before the referee overturned the decision after reviewing the game on the field monitor
Suarez, however, went on to prove that he still has a lot to offer at the top level after being sent off by Barca despite his 198 goals for the club in all competitions over six seasons – the third-highest total of all the players in their history
