Midway through a busy night of fights, trespassing and a report of a brick hurled through a window, four officers from the Wichita police department arrived to investigate a shooting at an open-air museum of dirt roads and old wooden houses.
The victim had been wounded in a gun battle between men dressed as police officers and others as bootleggers. “When officers arrived it was kind of a little bit chaotic,” Lieutenant Chris Marceau told reporters.
The battle was part of a historical re-enactment during a night of Twenties-themed revels at the Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita, Kansas. It featured cabaret and a show called Coppers Raiding the Bootleggers at Trappers Cabin with about 25 performers. An audience of about 30, who were encouraged to
