Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes ‘messy comments took place on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ show Info Wars
Rhodes bizarrely claimed his group was fighting « the bought Democrats and the leftists », adding « this is who we are fighting against on the streets right now »
He continued, « You have to defeat them in the war, then you have to understand, it’s kind of like the Founding Fathers deal with the loyalists, what do you do with these people? »
Rhodes also worryingly said his group was ready to « do what we have to do », and said the extremist organization would be close to Washington D.C to protect against « Benghazi attacks on the White House »
He said the oath keepers were ready to kill « street soldiers » and « seek their command and control »
He also baselessly accused « terrorists on the streets, » of « coercing Trump supporters » and trying to stop them from participating in rallies, and « beating them to walk around with just a t – Trump t-shirt on «
« This is what they are going to do They are going to steal the election while accusing Trump and his supporters of stealing them, » Rhodes said
As Rhodes spoke with far-right conspiracy theorist Jones, he made several other messy claims, including that of an upcoming civil war
Rhodes said his group would be prepared to follow President Trump’s instructions and detain members of the « deep state »
Rhodes also touted the idea of another civil war and said his group spoke to former military fighters
Rhodes has also called presidential candidate Joe Biden a « puppet » – and baselessly criticized the Democratic Party as « communist »
The Southern Poverty Law Center describes the Oath Keepers as « one of the largest radical anti-government groups in the US today «
According to SPLC, Oath Keepers are « based on an unfounded set of conspiracy theories that the federal government is working to destroy American freedoms »
Rhodes previously defended Trump in the 2016 election and announced an ‘operation’ to prevent the election from being stolen from Trump
