A massive police presence invaded Co Cork farm in Ireland after the shooting, with two rifles and a shotgun found at the scene

The bodies of his father, in his late 50s and his brother, also in his 20s, were found half a mile away in a field, Irish Mirror reports
Gardai (Irish police) has been present at the property in Assolas, Kanturk, since 630h, after reports of a shooting came in
It has been reported that Gardai was alerted to the scene after a neighbor heard gunshots
Other reports say a woman in her 60s sounded the alarm this morning, showing up at a neighbor’s house, appearing distraught and saying there had been a shooting at her family’s home
Negotiators attempted to contact anyone in the house However, after 1 p.m., the son’s body was found in a room in the house in Assolas, Kanturk
Later, the body of another man in his twenties and a man in his fifties was found in nearby lands after an aerial search
A Garda spokesperson said: « Both places have been declared as crime scenes and An Garda Síochána has opened a full investigation into all the circumstances of the incident under the direction of a senior investigator
« The forensic scientist and the Garda technical office have been contacted and are on their way to both scenes
« A family liaison officer has been appointed and an incident room has been established in Kanturk
« An Garda Síochána is not looking for any other person in connection with this incident at this time
« An Garda Síochána appeals to anyone who may have information that may assist in the investigation of the incidents that occurred this morning to contact Garda investigating at Mallow Garda station 022 31450, Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any other Garda station «
Cork Beo reports that it is believed that a major dispute has recently arisen in the family over a will relating to a large piece of land
Local sources reportedly told the news site that the family was already under severe strain due to a serious illness affecting a family member
It is also reported that Gardai was aware of the guns legally held in the house, which is relatively secluded and surrounded by grounds popular with local shooting clubs
RTE reports that the woman in her sixties sounded the alarm this morning as Gardai learned that three men were in the house and that one of them may have been shot and wounded
Local police and other emergency services called for reinforcements after arriving at the farm, with the Cork City Armed Response Unit among the first on the scene
The Dublin Emergency Response Unit then arrived in an Air Corps helicopter, as hostage negotiators were brought in in case they were needed
Officers launched their response to a critical firearms incident, and negotiators attempted to contact anyone on the property during the morning
It was only after 1 p.m. that police decided it was safe to enter the property after an appraisal, where they made the horror discovery before an aerial search revealed the two other bodies in the neighboring lands around 1 a.m.40h
A full investigation has been launched, and Garda’s state pathologist and technical office are to visit both stages
Cords are in place around the isolated farm, apparently on the outskirts of Kanturk, north of Cork, and on the surrounding roads
