Firefighters are currently at the scene of a truck fire between the M1 and M25 near Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire this morning
Highways England warned of a 40-minute delay on the M1 this morning (Tuesday October 20) as crews tackle the fire on the pavement
The truck caught fire on the M1 south ramp at junction 6A to junction 21A of the M25 – near Bricket Wood
The incident also has a ripple effect on local roads crossing St Albans on the A414 and A405 as drivers attempt to avoid closure
Hertfordshire Gendarmerie tweeted: ‘We are currently at the scene of a truck fire on the M1 south slip road at junction 6a, to junction 21a of the M25, near Bricket Wood / Chiswell Green

On the M1 southbound, there was a separate incident involving two trucks between exit 9 (Redbourn) and exit 8
This only adds to the problems for those who are already stuck on the M1, with delays probably still an hour

The A405 North Orbital Road Westbound currently has queues between the Park Street roundabout and junction 21A of the M25, as does the A414 Eastbound from M1 at the Park Street roundabout
