Manchester United remain on the hunt for a new right-winger despite looming transfer deadline and are considering Kingsley Coman as an alternative to Ousmane Dembele, according to reports
The Red Devils have been through a miserable time, bringing only Ajax’s Donny van de Beek, but appear set to be the busiest Premier League club by the deadline with a number of deals in course
Free agent Edinson Cavani has already landed in Manchester to undergo a medical exam and sign a two-year contract, while a fee has finally been agreed with Porto for left-back Alex Telles
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority throughout the summer was to sign a right winger, although Borussia Dortmund refused to budge on their gigantic asking price for Jadon Sancho the main goal.
This saw United exploring other options in a last minute race and, according to The Telegraph, Bayern Munich winger Coman is back on the agenda
United are in talks with Barcelona over Dembele, although the player and his club prefer a permanent move – worth around £ 50million – while United are more interested in a loan
Although Barca boss Ronald Koeman opened the door for Dembele to leave ahead of the deadline, this deal now looks very difficult to break through before the game is over tonight
Bayern, however, may be more willing to allow Coman to leave, especially as they move closer to a loan deal for Juventus’ Douglas Costa, who is in Germany to undergo a medical and return in Bavaria
This gives Bayern a horde of options in attacking roles, having signed Leroy Sane this summer, and Coman – despite scoring in the Champions League final just a few weeks ago – could now run surplus by compared to requirements
Coman has only made a brief replacement appearance for Bayern this season, as he scored seven times and had four assists in the Bundesliga and Champions League last season. He won titles in Germany, Italy and France and could be tempted to add England to their list
