SEOUL (Reuters) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited construction sites for new homes that are part of a « grand plan » to rebuild cities hit hard by typhoons and summer flooding, state media reported on Thursday

The visit was Kim’s last to typhoon-affected areas of the country after pledging this week to build at least 25,000 homes over the next five years, as citizens launch an 80-day campaign to reach economic objectives

State newspaper Rodong Sinmun on Thursday featured Kim’s visit to newly constructed housing units in the eastern areas of Sinpho City and Hongwon County on the front page, showing the ruler smiling in front of rows of rooftop houses red and cyan and white walls

« He said they built the houses perfectly as well as professional builders, noting with great satisfaction that these houses were a crystal of the loyalty of Party members, » KCNA said
