TAUNTON Town was drawn to the Tonbridge Angels in this season’s Emirates FA Cup fourth qualifying round
The victory in this match, due to be played on Saturday, October 24, will take the Peacocks to the actual first round of the competition for the first time since the 2016/17 campaign.
Tonbridge plays in the National League South, one level above Taunton, who is in the Southern League Premier South
The Kent-based team regained their promotion to the National League after a five-year hiatus by winning the ‘Super Play-Off’ against Southern League play-off winners Metropolitan Police in 2019
Tonbridge is currently 10th in the National League South standings, with one win and one loss in his first two games
Taunton beat Wantage Town, Tiverton Town and Truro City to reach this milestone, as part of their undefeated start to the 2020/21 season
The winners of the October 24 match will take home £ 9,375 in cash prizes, and the losing team will receive £ 3,125
With National League Southern teams classified as ‘elite’, current COVID-19 regulations mean no fan will be able to attend the game
Fan rules for the FA Cup 4th qualifying round:
Elite Club vs. Elite Club
– no fans
Elite club versus non-elite club
– no fans
Non Elite Club vs. Elite Club
– home fans only
Non-elite club versus non-elite club
