Series 29 of the hit show is back tonight and will air in its new home on BBC One, making the trip to BBC Two
Showrunner Clare Pizey has previously said some shoots were filmed before the lockdowns and Covid restrictions, saying: ‘Luckily for us we had filmed international and domestic chaos before the lockdown began, and have already some really funny footage – we absolutely couldn’t film now with the three presenters in a car together «
The new series, however, will feature a lot more UK-based scenes as they had to end filming following social distancing regulations and other safety precautions

Paddy, who will be familiar to viewers for hosting ITV’s Take Me Out, said his approach to the series was different from previous seasons

Flintoff, who saw the England cricket team win the Ashes in 2005, said on joining the series: “Doing [Top Gear] is awesome I’m not hiring anyone – we have to try to do what’s best for this program If you think about it, you’re doing it for the wrong reasons «
The trio are rounded out by racing driver and automotive journalist Chris Harris, who joined Top Gear’s roster in 2016
While two of them might be quite fresh on the show, it was in full swing for the animators, who allegedly « nearly died » in one of the dangerous stunts
The trio will take on a challenge from the Wall of Death, which Paddy told Metrocouk about, saying, « I think this particular season we all almost died when we made the Wall of Death
