Patrol officers spotted a number of people fighting in Garratt Lane, Wandsworth, southwest London on Thursday just before 5 p.m.
A witness at the scene told MyLondon: « One guy was stabbed in the arm while sitting in the back of the police car, the other stabbed in the chest with the police surrounding him, a few others on the left side arrested, police everywhere
« I was just coming out of a meeting and saw all the cop cars flying »
The two stabbing victims were found near Garratt Lane cemetery suffering from knife wounds
The London ambulance service was present and the teenager was taken to hospital, where he later died His next of kin were informed
The deceased teenager has not yet been officially identified and a post-mortem examination must be organized
He was arrested on suspicion of GBH while another person was arrested on suspicion of a clash
A police spokesperson said that « full investigations into the circumstances are continuing » and that specialist detectives in the criminal squad have been informed
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan called the murder « terrible and tragic » and urged people to help the police
M Khan said: « We must all redouble our efforts to end the scourge of violent crime on our streets
Police say a « large crime scene » was in place and roads nearby have been closed
