Year 10 of the « Sixers Can, You Can » campaign, while raising funds to provide much-needed emergency accommodations for regional youth cancer patients. This is the second year for our WBBL Team. Our team will wear special jerseys to honor young cancer patients and survivors during Saturday against RenegadesPlayer The names of the players on the shirts will be replaced by three words of inspiration from a young cancer patient to raise awareness in the community about these youth’s battle and show them that the Sydney Sixers community supports them.
We are honored to play on their behalf on Saturday and every player on our team will think of that special person they are playing for and have the drive to win!
The shirts will be signed by the players and will be auctioned after the match for one week. We ask all our fans to participate and either bid on the shirts or donate.. Every $ 100 we collect equals one night’s stay for the regional cancer patient and his family in Sydney at Quest Apartment.
It is appalling to hear that young cancer patients in the area face additional challenges when they come to town for treatment.. A third of young people with cancer are from regional regions, and accommodation while receiving treatment in Sydney can cost thousands of dollars. Every $ 100 raised = 1 night of accommodation so we hope to raise some funds and awareness.
