World News – UA – Two Crows players allegedly caught with CBD drugs in ‘significant violation’

Adelaide Football Club claim Brad Crouch and Tyson Stengle were arrested by police and were allegedly arrested early in possession of an illicit substance in the city this morning

Crows chief football officer Adam Kelly said the club were « extremely disappointed with what was clearly a significant violation of community standards »

“First and foremost, the alleged conduct is serious and we will continue to ask questions and make sure we have all the facts before we take a final stand in the future,” Kelly said. p>

« The club will also work closely with the AFL and the AFL Players’ Association during this process, including working on the consequences of the AFL’s policy on illicit drugs

« What is absolutely clear is that all players in the league are well informed about drug use and relevant policies »

The club said they understand that none of the players will be charged in the case and that the police have instead referred them to a counseling process

« As an organization we take a very strong stand against any such behavior, » he said

« The well-being of Brad and Tyson is also paramount and we will ensure that they receive the appropriate support »

Stengle, 21, is set to face court next month for drunk driving after failing to appear in court in August

He was suspended for four matches earlier this season after being reported by police for drunk driving in an unregistered vehicle

Crouch’s future at the Crows unclear, with no formal contract for 2021, and the 26-year-old has openly agreed to leave the Crows as he seeks a long-term playing deal

« Right now I’m obviously thinking about whether to go to another side maybe Victoria at this point or stay here, » he said last week

« It’s a pretty difficult decision to make at the moment because I don’t really have a lot of information to consult »

The Crows ended the 2020 AFL season at the bottom of the standings with three wins and 14 losses
