Just a few months ago, Brandon Royval was a splashy newcomer to the UFC, in part for winning his debut against former title challenger Tim Elliott in part also for bemoan this performance, fearing that it would not be good enough to allow him to quit his daily job
By the end of the night at UFC Vegas 1 in May, Royval had earned a Performance of the Night bonus. He landed in the UFC flyweight rankings shortly after Day Work? Who needs it
At UFC 253, Royvl had a chance to rise through the division ranks, thanks to his pairing with seventh ranked flyweight Kai Kara-France – teammate of main event star Israel Adesanya The Fight opened with a bang Kara-France landed a huge top, and Royval responded with a big elbow, each letting go of the other with their respective shots Both men ended up on the ground and a scramble ensued Royval found himself in the lead in half-guard but Kara-France got back on his feet
Royval kept the pressure on and knocked over Kara-France Royval got locked in a guillotine choke but Kara-France got out and got back on his feet Royval again picked up the pace with big shots, Kara -France landed a big counter-shot, but Royval continued to come forward before Kara-France took down The round has come to an end
The second round started off with a few big blows exchanged again, and Royval locked himself in a guillotine and pulled the guard, forcing Kara-France to punch
