World News – UA – Vote count: Martin clean sweep, WA Tiger’s surprise

Dustin Martin’s record-breaking third medal Norm Smith came in dominatingly garnering as many votes as possible from the Grand Final, but his Richmond teammate Nathan Broad was a surprise inclusion in the tally voices

Martin was unanimously judged the best on the field, polling 15 votes to win the Norm Smith by beating teammate Jayden Short (six), Shane Edwards (four), Mitch Duncan (three) and Tiger Nathan Broad (two) from Geelong

This year’s judges included AFL greats Leigh Matthews and Malcolm Blight, senior reporters Damian Barrett and Peter Ryan and former AFLW player Lauren Arnell

Matthews was the only referee to give WA’s Nathan Broad a little love for his great final performance, giving the defenseman two votes after eight assignments and two points

The Hawthorn and Brisbane legend may have confused Broad (No 35) with the second best Short (No 15) vote getter in the hitout, after he appeared on Twitter that he gave Short 2 votes on radio station 3AW
