The Coronation Street actor says his neighbors deemed him « inconsiderate » after making multiple mistakes with his recycling
Coronation Street actor Colson Smith has claimed he was « petrified » to leave the house after his neighbors labeled him « ruthless » for recycling.
Colson – who lives with co-star Ben Price – shared his shame about throwing his discarded trash in a large box to find out that someone had fished his items and put them in the right place.
The Craig Tinker actor said he was further embarrassed to find a Facebook post about his recycling bug.
Colson, 22, reported the incident on the Sofa Cinema Club podcast: « I can’t recycle my delivery boxes, which I get every week, because they contain styrofoam and ice packs.
« I just throw everything in one big box, recycle the other one, but throw everything else in one big box and put that in the trash can. «
Ben, 48, who played Nick Tilsey on ITV Soap, joked that the box Colson was referring to was the size of « another apartment. ». .
« By the bins we saw two empty boxes that weren’t in the trash and I said, ‘Ben, they’re my boxes. ‘
« Somebody fished all my trash out of the boxes and left the boxes. I really didn’t know I was doing anything wrong.
I had filled the box with trash and used the box as a trash can myself and then threw it in the trash can. I thought it was [OK]. «
He continued, « But now the trash bins are locked so you can just put them in through the little mailbox, and there is a post on Facebook from someone complaining about the reckless problem that ruined everyone other’. This is me.
« My mom said I should do what I did this week – basically two black garbage bags. I had to put all the styrofoam balls in a bag, all the side panels and ice packs in one bag, and collapse the boxes.
« I’m basically walking around the apartment now, from the minute I get on the elevator to the minute I get off, keeping my head down. I am petrified. «
Colson and Ben said they had an awkward encounter with their concierge when they accidentally brought their trash to the front desk.
« We literally can’t get off the elevator, we have so much cardboard. Colson looks away, embarrassed. The concierge says, “Thanks guys. « Absolute shock, » recalled Ben.
