Both Kilmarnock and St. Mirren have been given severe fines by the SPFL for violating coronavirus rules.

The Premiership pair were beaten with a string of 3-0 defeats after their respective hearings revealed they were guilty of violating Covid-19 rules.

Kilmarnock, who admitted prior to an away game that there had been protocol violations regarding seating in the team coach and at a team dinner, saw the league bosses postpone their meeting with Motherwell as a 3-0 win for the Fir Park team.

St. Mirren admitted that her players failed to adhere to physical distancing guidelines in both training and team coaching, and even admitted that their players were CAR-sharing.

Motherwell and potential relegation rival Hamilton also suffered defeats for their postponed games. As a result, Fir Park’s team jumped to fifth place in the table.

For both clubs additional fines in the amount of 40. £ 000 imposed for further breaches of the league’s Covid guidelines.

And a whole range of different fan reactions have flooded the events of that afternoon.

First, some fans of FUMING Killie and St. Mirren that the crimes do not match the punishments – with some SPFL hallmarks « inconvenient ». .

One said, « It’s cool guys, Bolingoli flew to Spain and Aberdeen players went on the p *** but you will only be punished if you are not an establishment club that is considered big or popular is viewed enough!  »

One second said, « Feel punished for Killie & others. Probably held on a double standard compared to others.

« However, that begs the question, where have you been this summer when real structural changes could have been made? Maybe you will turn your back on Hearts, Partick is not the place to be. «

Another said, « Tell me about the penalties that struck me. Mirren and Killie were imposed the most annoyed. No club in IMHO is going to take it all the way. « .

« If they’re given to a Celtic, an Aberdeen or a Rangers, they’ll take the league to justice. On the other hand, they wouldn’t be hit like that . . . «

Another added, « What an absolute mess. No chance the Old Firm will delay games.

« Check out Celtic & Aberdeen – how can anyone tell me that their players’ violations are no worse than these? Still, they didn’t lose any points? A total joke. «

A fourth said: « Celtic and Aberdeen players are breaking COVID rules. Slap the wrist, don’t do it again guys.

A fifth said: « Absolute farce! What an outrageous punishment for such small offenses. The organization is unable to play the Scottish game «

Another said, « I just see the injustice that Killie and St. Mirren lost games when Aberdeen and Celtic had an opportunity to postpone theirs. « . SPFL will hand Celtic no losses. «

One report noted: « I wonder how other teams in the league will feel about it if Motherwell piped another for a Europa League qualifying spot after two 3-0 wins.

« St. Mirren & Killie deserves a punishment, but this damages the integrity of the entire table. «

Another commented, « There is no way the SPFL could affect the title race by taking points away from Rangers or Celtic. This is another classic example of how the bosses make examples for the diddy clubs. «

Popular Scottish soccer fan Pie & Bovril released a video of the Scottish stars celebrating their penalty triumph over Serbia, where they danced the conga without social distance.

Accompanying the clip, he wrote: « Scottish football: Do not sit near anyone on the team bus for a game or you will lose the game and be fined 40. 000 pounds. Scottish football: «

Some wanted to point out that the club as a whole and individually, Alex Dyer and Andy Millen insisted they had no case to answer – but today the club admitted various rule violations.

One fan wrote: « While the punishment clearly seems excessive to me, an internal investigation must also be carried out. «

Another said, « I’m honest, I’m a little bit crazy about Killie. We painted ourselves to follow the logs when we actually didn’t.

« Still thinking about harsh punishment, we haven’t done ourselves a favor. «

And a third added, « Club admitted the injury. Somebody should get a kick for it.

« Can blame SPFL for what we want. We broke the rules we signed up for and admitted them. So much for the club that said they would defend all charges as we were innocent. «

And while hundreds of angry Killie and St. Mirren fans let out their frustration over the results on social media, there were fans of various other clubs who disagreed.

Some insisted that the situation could not be compared to Celtic and Aberdeen – others simply asked the clubs to « take their medicine ». .

One said, « St. Mirren and Killie both admit they break the protocol, Aberdeen and Celtic both.

« The difference is that the players behaved like helmets outside the influence of the clubs. «

Another user said, « Hey, Killie and St Mirren fans. Do you mind when you said hearts should just shut up and take their medicine? How do you like this medicine? «

A third wrote: « For these clubs (Celtic & Aberdeen) individual players broke the rules, but Kilmarnock and St. Mirren as a club broke the rules. Sfa can dock club points, but not players. «

Another said: « As suspicious as I am of the actions of the SPFL, it was the players who broke the rules for Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen. In the case of Kilmarnock and St. Mirren it was the clubs themselves that broke the rules. In this rare case, they did the right thing. «

Most recently someone wrote: « I love seeing all of these Kilmarnock and St. . Mirren fans complain about their punishment and the discrepancies.

« You had an opportunity to examine the powers. As the old saying goes, « You made your bed. « . . . ‘. «
