Join reporter Jonathan Low for the action of Royals' clash against the Reds

. .

It is the first game that fans are allowed to return to the ground, so 2. 000 Royals fans will cheer the team personally for the first time since March.

It’s been an extremely long wait for the fans but hopefully the team can give them a performance and result that they can remember.

Veljko Paunovic’s side drew 1-1 in the middle of the week, but are unbeaten in three games. The last home game resulted in a 3-1 win over Bristol City, which was one of the best performances of the season by far.

Forest is on a miserable run and finished 21st. Place in the table after only collecting 13 points in 15 games so far.

Chris Hughton’s squad have only won three games in the entire season and have not won any of their last four games.

Reporter Jonathan Low will be showing you the action from the game on the live blog below.

After the game, keep an eye out for a live video on our dedicated Reading FC page on Facebook.

It’s great to see some fans in the ground here today – there may not be many, but it’s a big step in the right direction.

And this is how the visitors position themselves today. No Tyler Blackett as he is out due to injury.

There were two draws between the two clubs last season – how will the result look today?

No signs of fans yet, but it won’t be long before they’re back here at Mad Stad.

The Forest team has just arrived and there are a lot of people taking care of everything while we prepare for kick-off.

The game will be broadcast live on television. It’s on Sky Sports on the Sky Sports Football channel.

It will be less than a month before the January transfer window reopens for Reading and other clubs.

Given the season so far, boss Veljko Paunovic will be keen not to make too many changes to his squad to upset the balance and dynamism.

It’s no secret that the senior roster is on the thin side, so they are hoping to fill certain positions where they lack options.

There is also the problem that players are more likely to date some than others.

Some of the fringe players may be looking for another location for more games, while others may be valued away by higher-level clubs.

It means it could be a busy month for Paunovic and the board as they want to get January in better shape than they started it.

One player who would have been looking forward to Reading’s game against Nottingham Forest this weekend is Tyler Blackett.

The former Royals defender joined Forest this summer after spending four years at the Madejski Stadium.

As part of preparation for Saturday’s game, we caught up with Reds reporter Sarah Clapson from Nottinghamshire Live to try and improve on her previous form of Blackett and Forest.

Sky Sports expert David Prutton has backed Reading to extend his unbeaten run to four games when it comes to Nottingham Forest.

And EFL expert Prutton, who frequently points defeat to Royals in his prediction columns, believes a home win is imminent at the Madejski Stadium.

Head of reading Veljko Paunovic has called for VAR to be introduced into the championship after his team’s controversial 1-1 draw in Sheffield on Wednesday.

Royals were denied up to four sentences in the second half of the Hillsborough clash on Wednesday night.

Paunovic refused to criticize umpire Oliver Langford and his reigning team after the game, despite replays suggesting Royals may feel extremely hard done.

And he called for the introduction of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), to be used in the championship to help officials in controversial moments.

It’s a quick break from that mid-week trip to Sheffield on Wednesday, as Berkshire’s visitors to Nottingham Forest are this afternoon.

For the first time since March, up to 2. 000 reading fans will be present. Hopefully they have a lot to celebrate.
