Follow the latest updates live from the final Autumn Nations Cup game of the day as Wales and Italy try to end the tough year at a height in the play-off for fifth.

Wales just won two of their eight games in 2020 in an alarming slump since reaching the rugby World Cup semi-finals last November, which made life difficult for head coach Wayne Pivac. Losing today would spell disaster for his reign, which showed signs of life against England last weekend, but at least they can be confident of beating Italy earlier in the year.

Italy’s record this year is actually worse than Wales as the only game they « won » that year was the walkover win given to them after Fiji was forced to play the game last month to lose. Follow the live updates below.

The surprising aspect is that they got off to such a good start, with Faletau and Tipuric starring in both attempts as Hardy and Parry benefited from their creative play.

To their credit, however, Italy refused to be beaten and actually looked very solid in their game, with ball retention being better than normal and penalties being punished with points. Everything is up and running in a crucial second half for Wayne Pivac.

Italy are doing hard work restarting but watch the clock for up to 40 minutes and put the ball out to end a surprisingly even first half!
