World News – UK – Watch a giant alligator sneak up on its second duck of the day and feed

In our social media days we’ve seen some wild things go viral on Facebook. Cats play pianos, little horses wear sweaters. We never thought of this video of a massive alligator eating a duck in the wild, but now that we have it we are committed to sharing it with all of you at home.

A Facebook post by Cass Couey garnered worldwide attention for its cruel and shocking nature. Couey shared the 32-second video on the social media platform on Wednesday with a caption warning viewers of the content. . . as far as this is possible!

It really isn’t clear from the video how big the alligator is. From the safety of the shore, Cass and another man captured the predator, who swam silently behind a duck before capturing the entire bird in its mouth. In a couple of strokes, the alligator finished its second meal of the day, according to one man speaking on the video.

While the unfortunate bird met a sad death, other birds sat idly by, freezing cold and didn’t even seem to be affected by the alligator’s hideous actions. Ducks, they are tough! Most shocking, however, is how long the alligator appears to be chewing. Its tail swings unbelievably long from its head out of the water. You don’t have to be feathered waterfowl to be a little intimidated.

The average size of an American alligator is 11. 2 feet (for men taller than women) according to the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Shockingly large American alligators, however, have been captured on film earlier.

In 2017, CNN shared a video of a giant alligator walking along a nature trail in central Florida. Many people quickly assumed that the video was fake because the alligator looked so animal and prehistoric. However, National Geographic confirmed the video was real, and even stated that the size of the alligator might indicate that the reptile species thrives in today’s climate.

This also seems to be the case in Couey’s 2020 video. The giant alligator has no shortage of food. The footage showed a quick, silent approach as the animal enjoyed its second duck of the day. No wonder American alligators are nowhere near extinct. They are, in fact, considered to be the « Least Concerning » on the Smithsonian’s Endangered Ranking.

Commentators on Couey’s video expressed their shock at eating the alligator, while some even joked that they would not be visiting Florida anytime soon. Most of the comments seemed to point to the size of the alligator, which was best seen as it chewed the bird. The alligator’s tail protruded out of the water in movements that caused a beholder’s eyes to open wide.
