The YASMEEN Nazir trial will finally pass judgment next week during the explosive 60th Anniversary Episodes on Coronation Street.

It wasn’t the best start to Yasmeen’s trial this week when Geoff lied in court and painted her as a violent alcoholic.

Alya and Sally will be tonight (4. December) take the witness bank, but prosecutors are quick to point out that their evidence is based solely on hearsay.

With Tim no longer a credible witness after beating Geoff and Elaine in a mental hospital, things don’t look good for Yasmeen.

But Ian Bartholomew – who plays Geoff – has suggested that justice might be served after all.

When talking about the “shelf life” of his character on the soap, Ian explained, “I think it’s pretty clear that there is some amount when you play a character like this or when you are a villain or a bad guy Bad guys are durability.

« It was no surprise to find we were coming to a conclusion or some kind of catharsis for Yasmeen. « 

Shelley King, who plays Yasmeen in Soap, recently revealed that she wants to see a « bombastic » side of her character after her horror of coercive control.

During a recent chat with the TV Times, Shelley said, « I’d like to see another side of Yasmeen if I could. If I could choose I would love comedy more.

She added, « Yasmeen has been locked away for too long, so let’s see the bombastic character she was, but let’s not forget what she went through. « 

Ian said, “The scenes are very intense because both Yasmeen and Geoff are telling their stories and it depends on who the jury thinks they are telling the truth.

« Of course Geoff loves it because he has his day in court so he uses that trust to convince people that he was right all along and that it is all their fault and that he was the victim. ”
