World News – United States – First version of Pokémon sword reportedly leaked online

In nature

Earlier this year Nintendo suffered a massive source code leak Since then we’ve heard and found out all kinds of things about older video games and the company’s hardware

The leaks haven’t stopped either In the latest development there is now another Pokemon, but this time it’s rather different as it’s tied to a current gen game on Nintendo Switch

You see, an early debugging version of Pokémon Sword has reportedly been leaked online Fortunately, it doesn’t appear to include the game’s source code, based on a preview from Twitter user LuigiBlood:

« Yes, a March 2018 version of Pokémon Sword was leaked today, alongside what I understood to be a December 2017 version of Let’s Go Pikachu / Eevee that has yet to be checked out because it was disclosed as a ZIP file with password intended to be cracked using clear-text methods «

« And just to be sure: I haven’t seen anything on the source code, just playable versions, nothing more »

Another Twitter user by the name of Lewtwo shared screenshots of this supposed version on his own account As this is apparently a prototype from March 2018, much of it is under development Sword and Shield was only released in November 2019

Other than that, there would also be a 2017 version of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s go, Eevee! for Switch

While past leaks were based on older games, we imagine the current generation’s are of much greater concern to Nintendo and The Pokémon Company

When not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam enjoys reporting on the latest Nintendo news and admiring his library of video games. His favorite Nintendo character was a dog playing guitar, but nowadays, he prefers to spend time with Judd the cat

This could be interesting, I don’t approve of the methods used to get the information, but I’m still fascinated by the changes made during development for some reason

@ mariomaster96 I saw the article and expected this kind of comment I don’t even hate Sword and Shield but I find it funny lol

I watched this leak, it looks like they had Pokémon in this version that were cut from the finished game This means they are deliberately cutting Pokémon The excuse « We couldn’t wear the models « was a lie Same thing with the time constraint excuses because they had time to put these Pokémon in and take them out again

It would be interesting to see if new 3D Pokémon models not reused for Legacy Pokémon were still present in Sword or Shield at any point in development, as the developers claimed (reported in June and July 2019 by Famitsu and Polygon respectively) to explain the challenge of bringing the series to Switch.Keep in mind that one of the many issues that many fans have with The Pokémon Company / Game Freak today is not that they have reused 3D models in Sword and Shield, which in itself is common practice and is generally fine, but that they specifically said they didn’t t during interviews while doing the opposite, misleading players who, on the other hand, have been very loyal customers for many years and absolutely deserve better There is no reason to mislead players Likewise, a Game Freak art director later publicly liked a social media post indirectly calling critical fans the C-word, in case dishonest PR wasn’t enough to alienate fans

It would be nice to see if this statement was actually true at some point in development. And again, summer 2019 would have been very late in development for them to continue designing and animating models, maybe it would be. -be wishful thinking

Oh, how the cookie crumbles! And at the best possible time! What a joke this generation has been

OOhhhhh hmmm I wonder if this is related to the other leaks they are more and more common and skip people 5 and 7 and now we are here Pokemon has always been known for its leaks but it makes me wonder if the responsible person has something against gamefreak

@DeathByLasagna well I mean I loved SwSh too and looking forward to tomorrow (DLC release) but that doesn’t mean you can’t be critical about it ^^

@EmmatheBest Yeah, I finally said no by not buying the DLC I still have hope for future people and a Gen 4 remake will be good, but for now I have some finished with that

Well I looked through, they reused a lot of USUM assets as intended What’s more interesting is that there was a statue of a GMAX Pikachu, a pink Rotomdex girl and emoticons for online which included clefairy flipping the bird

@Tourtus you certainly weren’t looking at it properly as they only had 20 Pokémon in the build which were leaked

@JustMe Tourtus said « a Pokémon » « Some » of those 20 Pokémon in this leaked version were removed from the final game So why is your name?

It’s quite interesting that at the start of construction they didn’t have any fences, although I’m pretty sure there was nothing off the trail so it’s a bit a silent point

Why do I keep clicking Pokemon items on this site? The people here are vile and full of hate for the franchise

This is clearly because I am a naive jerk hoping for something positive to shine I know for a fact that literally millions of people enjoyed these games But not this community

@Tourtus None of this is new information Anyone who took up this apology did so knowing that they were lies even before the games were released

@ Heavyarms55 I see no hate towards the franchise just jokes about bad tree textures and the small number of Pokémon in the Dex

Why not look for the definition of hate? Also on the whole franchise? Not even close!

Yes, with new things like this, it’s hard to picture yourself as a mere oversight on semi-abandoned storage Either a cunning cyber-theft or someone inexplicably eager to lose their own career

@Menardi trusts a fan to imply that « the indirect use of outright fan calls is a PR faux pas, although the phrase describes all fans to a T and PR does imply to worry about the relationships with the audience, the customers there – not the dirty fan demons that populate the audience’s minds Yes, I also think the wording could have done without swearing, but I wasn’t neither the one who received a fanhead drama on a comment translated by a tabloid

Cool so we can see a game with more bugs and less content I doubt they did anything interesting between launch
