One of the largest wildfires in state history, the Cameron Peak Fire continued to grow in Colorado The blaze has now grown to an area of 135,556 acres, causing mandatory evacuations and additional volunteers The current confinement is at 56%
New Mandatory Evacuations include the communities of Glen Haven, Glen Haven Retreat, Storm Mountain and Palisade Mountain This joins a number of other mandatory evacuations that have already been put in place See an updated map of evacuations here

With this growth, the Cameron Peak Fire is approaching the second largest fire in the state of Colorado, Hayman Fire, which burned 137,760 acres in 2002 Pine Gulch Fire burned 139,007 acres in 2020 and the Mullen Fire , still active, burned 176,047 acres, although most of the affected area is in Wyoming
