Actor Jason Momoa has taken a firm public stance: He’s supporting Justice League co-star Ray Fisher in his allegations against director Joss Whedon.
“This sh*t has to stop and needs to be looked at @rayfisher and everyone else who experiences what happened under the watch of @wbpictures needs proper investigation,” the Aquaman star wrote on Instagram Monday.
Momoa continued: “I just think it’s f**ked up that people released a Fake Frosty announcement without my permission to try to distract from Ray Fisher speaking up about the sh*tty way we were treated on Justice League reshoots. Serious stuff went down.”
The actor alluded to the fact that rumors Momoa would be the voice of a new Frosty the Snowman film started to circulate on July 1, the same day that Fisher went public with his claims.
Fisher, who played Cyborg in the 2017 film, has alleged that director Whedon treated the Justice League cast and crew in a “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” manner. He also alleged that the film’s producers, Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, “enabled” Whedon’s behavior.
Fisher tweeted a screenshot of the post, saying that he was hopeful that people would “wake up.”
Warner Bros. has denied the allegations, and studio officials have reportedly launched an investigation. However, Fisher says that the probe’s handlers have avoided contacting key witnesses and are “cherry-picking interviewees that best suit @wbpictures’ false narrative and scapegoating efforts.”
Berg has denied Fisher’s claims against him; Johns and Whedon have yet to address them publicly.
In a statement, Warner Bros. maintained that it “remains committed to accountability and to the well-being of every cast and crew member on each of its productions. It also remains committed to investigating any specific and credible allegation of misconduct, which thus far Mr. Fisher has failed to provide.”
Fisher called the statement a “desperate and scattershot attempt to discredit me to continue protecting those in power.”
