After receiving information from the Sharjah Police Anti-Narcotics Department, an inspection team from the ministry investigated a number of complaints against the Sharjah private clinic

A joint investigation between the police and the ministry revealed that a number of people, aged 20 to 30, regularly visited the clinic to collect prescriptions for controlled drugs

A health official also attended the scene under cover of a patient and was fired with a number of drugs prescribed by the doctor

The team discovered that the man was trying to push a number of controlled drugs onto patients, despite no underlying health issues to warrant such prescriptions

As a result, the committee decided to revoke the doctor’s license and remove his name from the UAE medical register. He was also arrested by Sharjah police
