On Thursday, Tottenham’s attack was on point in a 6-2 victory over Israeli side Maccabi Haifa Harry Kane netted a hat-trick and Giovani Lo Celso scored a brace to send Spurs into the phase of Europa League groups

In what was the last test of the qualifying rounds, Jose Mourinho opted for something quite close to a top pick Kane was at the top with Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn, Lo Celso and Harry Winks Supporting Joe Hart started in goal, with Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez partnering in central defense between Ben Davies and Matt Doherty
There was a place on the bench for Dele Alli after appearing to be about to leave the club
The game started off perfectly for the home side Davies fell to the left in two minutes and he played a perfect ball through the goal to Kane, who only had to kick the ball into the net for the first goal of the match
Perhaps to warn of what was to come, Hart was put into action minutes later when he saved a shot from Tjaronn Chery
Spurs nearly increased their lead over the next few minutes Lo Celso was first to a ball and burst into the box, but his shot was wide Then Kane almost found himself able to throw himself on a spill from American Maccabi Guardian Josh Cohen
Chery had almost scored earlier, and he found the net with a sensational effort at 17 minutes The former QPR man wrapped one in the top corner nearly 30 yards to even the score
But Spurs were quick with their own response A corner was won and Lucas Moura appeared at the near post with a quality header which passed past Cohen to restore the header
After that eventful 20-minute opening, things stabilized slightly for a while, until Lo Celso opened the game wide.
Lucas put his head on a Doherty cross, but his header was blocked by a Maccabi defender The ball was not cleared, however, and Lo Celso was there to buckle it in the top corner for his first goal since january
A few minutes later the Argentinian struck again Neta Lavi made a defensive error and Kane leapt forward The Englishman pushed forward and finally slipped a ball to Lo Celso, who simply passed the ball over in front of a hurried Cohen
With another big game looming in Manchester on Sunday, Dele was signed early in the second half for Lo Celso
Haifa received a penalty in the opening minutes of half-time, but it looked like a questionable handball call against Doherty Nikita Rukavytsya stepped up and finished calmly to bring visitors back into the contest a bit
They nearly found another goal moments later when Abu Fani attempted a shot from outside the box, but Hart recovered well to tip the post
French referee Ruddy Buquet inflicted another questionable handball penalty minutes later, this time in favor of Tottenham Kane visited and, once again, Darude’s ‘sandstorm’ exploded in North London
The Israelis thought they had once again reduced their lead when Rukavytsya put the ball in the net, but the assistant referee correctly signaled offside
Then it was Lucas’s turn to get close Dele played it high on the box, but his scathing effort went just over the bar
Oddly enough, Kane still hadn’t been replaced with the game pretty much settled, that is, until he got his hat trick Dele threw Bergwijn on the left, the winger grabbed a slippery defender and crossed one for Kane to crush a helpless Josh Cohen to make it 6-2
After that the game was coming to a predictable end The subs were forced to rest their legs on both sides, then there was one more penalty for Spurs
Dele got the kick after a nice spin in the box, and he was later picked to finish the chance from the penalty spot
The referee ultimately ended the game with a 7-2 final, something more like a baseball score than a football final
Friay will bring in the draw for the group stage of the competition, which is expected to begin later this month
