World News – US – Urban Meyer continues to dig the Big 12’s grave

As Oklahoma faces Texas in the Red River Showdown on Saturday afternoon, the Big 12 could add to their already elusive college football playoff battle for now, the Oklahoma State might be their best bet to get into the top 4, with Texas coming a close second assuming they are dealing with the Sooners. Nothing can be taken for granted in this wild Big 12 season, however, and the most likely option would be for all of the contestants to hit each other, one by one.

Urban Meyer agrees with this synopsis, which is why he continued to bury Big 12 playoff chances on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff pre-game show.

“It’s almost a street fight for that fourth position,” Meyer said. “The last few years the Big 12 had Oklahoma In my opinion the Big 12 is over So who does this open to? does he wear them? Tom Herman and Lincoln Riley are counting on playoff spots to justify their big paychecks, the former facing some heat from Longhorn fans for yet to take his proud program to the Promised Land Yet Meyer doesn’t see any team as a legitimate contender for fourth place in the playoffs.

“With all due respect to Oklahoma,” Meyer continued “You mean Alabama, Florida, Georgia You mean Penn State and Notre Dame These are teams with talent high level « 

The fate of the Big 12 is more uncertain than ever, and the rankings suggest nothing less With Iowa state, Kansas state and Oklahoma state all tied for the top of the conference at 2-0, your guess is as good as any expert as to which team will reign supreme when all is said and done in this crazy college football season
