For the first time since the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, SmackDown returned to the air and Jey Uso was forced to face his aftermath for losing to Roman Reigns in their match «  I Quit  »

Uso had been warned by Reigns ahead of their match that there would be dire consequences if Uso could not defeat him to win the Universal Championship This took place on air during SmackDown, with Reigns giving Uso a last chance to recognize him as « the leader of the family » « Uso’s initial resistance to the idea at the start of the show erupted into a spectacular show of violence as the show ceased issue

The drama of this storyline threatened to get even closer to too far after the Hell in a Cell match Uso’s « understanding » – and the ensuing attack on Bryan – made him back down Rather than continue the push and pull between Reigns and Uso, Uso cracked and went over the edge with his cousin And there are few more likable characters to put at the end of Uso’s punches than Bryan Note: B

At the start of the series, Aalyah Mysterio was shown speaking to Murphy backstage and stating that her mother was very « open » about them, but that Rey and Dominik refused to even talk about the situation Murphy stated that ‘he would issue a formal apology in the ring later that night

Murphy would eventually attempt to apologize He said he understands why the Mysterios despise him, but as a man he had to apologize face to face He invited the two to the ring, begging for an apology, but instead it was Seth Rollins who stepped out of the backstage. Rollins said Rey and Dominik would never accept Murphy’s apology or the relationship he had with Aalyah Rollins then said if the Mysterios didn’t accept him he would and he too will accept Aalyah Dominik attacked Rollins from behind, Murphy pulled him out and attacked Rollins himself After Rollins ran away, Dominik and Murphy scrambled until Rey also rushed Aalyah stopped Rey from hitting a 619 on Murphy and refused to leave the ring, declaring that she loved Murphy Murphy and Aalyah then kissed as Dominik and Rey left the ring

As a result of the Speaking Out movement, it is strange to see this story unfold Yes, Aalyah and Murphy are ‘legally’ adults, but Aalyah turned 19 in August, while Murphy is 13 years older than C It’s just an embarrassing thing to deal with as some sort of ‘star-crossed lovers’ story in an era when allegations of inappropriate relationships – including those between veterans and young wrestlers and power dynamic-based personalities broken – take center stage In addition to these issues, the issues between Rollins, Murphy and the Mysterios make it look like they ran out of steam months ago and I don’t think there’s any juice left to press here Grade: C-
