Emergency services, including a SWAT team, were called to the Sonic fast food restaurant in Bellevue late Saturday evening to report an active shooter inside.
911 callers reported that a male suspect wearing a helmet opened fire around 9 a.m.. Saturday 30.00 local time.
More than 20 police vehicles responded to the building at 1307 Cornhusker Road, the Omaha World Herald reported.
Sgt. Andy Jashinske of Bellevue PD told ABC subsidiary KETV7 that a person is in custody and the police are not actively looking for someone.
According to initial unconfirmed local reports, at least two people – a 27-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl – are said to have been injured.
Footage reportedly taken from the scene and posted on social media showed a large fire burning outside the restaurant.
Reports indicate that the fire involved a U-Haul rental truck with fireworks that had been set alight.
