STARKVILLE, miss. – The Mississippi state men’s basketball team continued their homestand of three games on Friday when they faced North Texas at the Humphrey Coliseum. The playing time is set to 7 p. m. CT and can be streamed over the SEC network .
The Bulldogs (1-2) claimed a 68-51 win over the state of Texas on Monday. The win was career victory No.. 500 for head coach Ben Howland. Redshirt in the second year Guard D. . J. . Stewart Jr. . led Mississippi State with a career high of 23 points in that game.
The Mean Green (1-1) defeated Mississippi Valley State 116-62 at the season opener with a program record of 21 3-pointers. They lost 69-54 to Arkansas on Saturday.
The Bulldogs have won home records of 68:19 and 38 of their 42 non-conference home games in Howlands five seasons at MSU.
Friday’s matchup is the third meeting between the state of Mississippi and North Texas on the hardwood. Most recently, the Bulldogs won an 82:59 home win against Mean Green in November. 27, 2011.
