Though ESPN+ have chosen not to stream the fight in the United States for whatever reason, Anthony Yarde and Dec Spelman are still doing battle today at historic York Hall in London, with Yarde looking to tune up for a shot at Lyndon Arthur’s Commonwealth light heavyweight title.
Yarde hasn’t fought since a tune-up win in February against a club fighter in Spain, and this will be his first remotely competitive matchup since an Aug. 2019 loss to Sergey Kovalev in a crack at the WBO light heavyweight title in Russia, where Yarde fared better than some expected.
Spelman just fought and lost to Arthur on July 31, and has lost two straight, dating back to his Sept. 2019 defeat against Shakan Pitters, who recently claimed the British title at 175 pounds.
The show also features a middleweight matchup between Mark Heffron and Denzel Bentley, which is an intriguing matchup, and a welterweight fight between prospect Ekow Essuman and tough Cedrick Peynaud.
