Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will proceed with plans to fight a Charlo in September. Just not the one that everyone expected. The undisputed super middleweight champion confirmed a deal in place to face Jermell Charlo atop a September 30 Showtime Pay-Per-View event from a yet-to-be-determined Las Vegas venue. Alvarez announced the fight Friday afternoon to end weeks of speculation and also dispel previously and widely believed rumors that he would next face WBC middleweight titlist Jermall Charlo.
In an extremely close bout in Las Vegas, Devin Haney pulled out the victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko.
LAS VEGAS – Raymond Muratalla was more than ready for this step up. The undefeated lightweight legitimized himself as a contender in the 135-pound division by beating Jeremia Nakathila by technical knockout in the second round on the Devin Haney-Vasiliy Lomachenko undercard at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
